Mark T. Brandt, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Chairman of Urology, Lutheran General Hospital
Dr. Brandt joined the Actient board of directors in July 2011. Dr. Brandt graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1986 after getting his BS in Chemistry from the same institution. He served on the board for Uropartners, the second largest urology practice in the country for five years before becoming Chairman of Urology at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Ill. U.S. News and World Report recently ranked Lutheran's urology department in the top 100, and the hospital boasts the lowest rate of post-operative complications in the country.
Dr. Brandt has an extremely busy practice with a special interest in advanced robotic techniques. He recently completed the first robotic fluorescent-imaging partial nephrectomy in Illinois, and has performed hundreds of robotic surgeries for prostate cancer. In addition to his clinical and administrative achievements, he is an active member of several professional societies including the Board of Urology, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery.
Benjamin J. Daverman
Vice President, GTCR
Ben Daverman joined GTCR in 2008 as a vice president. Ben previously worked as an associate at Alta Partners, a life sciences venture capital firm. Prior to Alta, he was an associate in the Healthcare group at JMP Securities, LLC, and an analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at J.P. Morgan (formerly Hambrecht & Quist). Ben received a BA in History, magna cum laude, from Colgate University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Ben also holds a master's degree in Biotechnology from the School of Applied Sciences & Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. Chief Executive Officer, Actient Pharmaceuticals
Ed Fiorentino is chief executive officer of Actient Pharmaceuticals. He has held this position since the company’s inception in March 2009. Prior to Actient, Ed was with Abbott for more than 20 years. His senior-level management experience at Abbott includes corporate vice president of pharmaceutical commercial operations, where he was responsible for all U.S. sales, marketing and new product planning. He also served as senior vice president and president of Abbott Diabetes Care, leading Abbott’s global device division in this area. Most recently, Ed was executive vice president of TAP Pharmaceuticals, an Abbott joint venture with Takeda Pharmaceuticals. Prior to Abbott, Ed was with Bristol-Myers. Ed currently serves on the board of Actient Pharmaceuticals and the board of Sensors for Medicine and Science. He previously served on the boards of TAP Pharmaceuticals, Graceway Pharmaceuticals, iBIO, California Healthcare Institute, National Pharmaceutical Council and Allendale Association. Ed holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the State University of New York and an M.B.A. from Syracuse University.
Jefferson J. Gregory
Managing Partner, Gracetree Investments, LLC
Jeff is the Managing Partner of Gracetree Investments, LLC in Bristol, Tennessee. He founded Graceway Pharmaceuticals, LLC in Bristol, Tennessee in early 2007 and served as Chairman and CEO of Graceway until his resignation in December 2011. Prior to Graceway Pharmaceuticals, LLC, Jeff co-founded King Pharmaceuticals in 1993. He served as the President of King Pharmaceuticals from 1993-2002. He was appointed as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer in 2002, and served as Chairman and CEO from 2002 through 2004. During his tenure as Chairman and CEO, King Pharmaceuticals’ net revenue rose from approximately $870 million to $1.5 billion.Jeff also sits on the Board of Directors of Orison Corporation, Inc., Johnson City, Tenn., and the Board of Trustees of King College in Bristol, Tenn. Jeff holds a B.S. in Pharmacy, as well as a Juris Doctorate Degree, from the University of Maryland. He also holds an honorary Doctor of Laws degree conferred upon him by King College.
Alan D. MacKenzie

Alan MacKenzie joined the Actient board of directors in June 2011. He is currently the Chairman of SagePath Partners LLC. Prior to starting SagePath, Alan served as a member of the board of directors for Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. and Executive Vice President of Takeda Pharmaceuticals International Inc., where he oversaw all of Takeda's businesses outside of Japan. Previously, Alan was President and CEO of Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America and was one of Takeda's founding executives for its U.S. operations in 1998. He began his pharmaceutical career at Takeda's joint venture with Abbott, TAP Pharmaceuticals, and returned to serve as its President and CEO.In addition to Actient and Takeda Pharmaceutical Corporation Ltd., he also served on the boards of TAP Pharmaceutical Products Inc. and the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA). Alan holds a BSN from Wagner College and earned his MBA from the Graduate School of Business, The University of Chicago.

Dean S. Mihas joined GTCR in 2001. Prior to GTCR, Constantine was CEO and co-founder of Delray Farms, LLC, a leading specialty food retailer. Prior to Delray, he was with McKinsey & Company. Dean earned an MBA with distinction from the Harvard Graduate School of Business, and a BS degree with high distinction in Finance and Economics from the University of Illinois, Chicago.Dean is a director of BNY ConvergEx Group, Golden Gate Logistics, Graceway Pharmaceuticals, Devicor Medical Products, LLC, and Actient Pharmaceuticals, LLC. He was previously on the boards of Ovation Pharmaceuticals, Managed Healthcare Associates, CompBenefits, and Polypore.
