Edex®
(alprostadil for injection)
Edex® is an injectable therapy used to treat erectile dysfunction of neurogenic, vasculogenic, psychogenic or mixed etiology. The active ingredient, alprostadil, widens blood vessels and increases blood flow into the penis. Edex offers a convenient option that starts to take effect in five to 20 minutes.
Edex is for men who do not respond to, or are not candidates for, oral erectile dysfunction therapy.1
Patients who have conditions that might predispose them to priapism or with penile implants should not be treated with Edex.
Patients should seek immediate medical assistance for an erection lasting longer than 6 hours. Use of Edex offers no protection from the transmission of sexually transmitted or blood-borne diseases.
